High school volleyball teams proudly celebrating their rankings and achievements.
The national high school volleyball regional rankings have been announced, highlighting the top teams from across the country. California leads with Mira Costa High School at the forefront, closely followed by Huntington Beach and Carlsbad. Noteworthy schools from other regions, including Midwest and Northeast, also showcase strong performances. As the season progresses towards playoffs, the competitive spirit among high school volleyball teams intensifies.
Los Angeles, California – The highly anticipated national high school volleyball regional rankings have been unveiled, showcasing standout teams across the country as the season heads towards its conclusion. Leading the rankings for May 2025 are top-performing teams from California, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Florida, highlighting their dominance and competitive spirit.
Mira Costa High School from California leads the pack with an impressive record of 33-2. Following closely is Huntington Beach High School with a strong 34-4 record and Carlsbad High School rounding out the top three with 35-2. These achievements mark a successful season for California high school volleyball programs, which represent six of the top eleven spots.
In addition to the top three, other notable California schools making the regional rankings include:
Outside of California, Perry High School from Gilbert, Arizona claims the ninth spot with an impressive 42-4 record, while Coronado High School from Henderson, Nevada follows closely at tenth with 38-2.
The Midwest rankings feature Marist High School from Chicago, Illinois, at the top with a standout 31-2 record. Other notable teams include Roncalli High School from Indianapolis, Indiana at 26-3 and Glenbard West High School, also from Illinois, with a 29-4 record. The Midwest has proven to be highly competitive this season, with teams like Downers Grove North and Oak Park River Forest both holding a 29-4 record, placing them in the top five.
In the Northeast region, Meadville High School in Pennsylvania leads with a record of 33-1-3. Close competition can be seen with Cumberland Valley High School, boasting a perfect 14-0 record, and Central York High School, currently at 12-0. Other teams making waves include Old Bridge High School from New Jersey with 26-1, and Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School with a 22-2 record.
The Southern region sees Lake Howell High School in Winter Park, Florida, leading with a remarkable 29-2 record. Winter Park High School is not far behind, holding a 22-5 record, while Timber Creek High School from Orlando ranks third with 27-3. Other key teams from this region include Lake Brantley High School and Southwest Miami High School, both showcasing strong seasons.
The recently released rankings reflect a dynamic and competitive landscape in high school volleyball, with teams showcasing exceptional talent and perseverance. As schools aim to secure their spots in the playoffs leading into June 2025, the excitement continues to build.
In addition to the volleyball rankings, other notable sports updates include Cornell’s victory in the DI men’s lacrosse national title, the revelation of the DI baseball bracket, and confirmation of the Women’s College World Series (WCWS) field.
